Xmas Pom Pom Wreath Making Workshop.

A fun workshop where you create your own Xmas Pom Pom Wreath. Using a multi pom pom maker you will be shown how to make multiple pom poms to attach decoratively to a copper ring. You will also be shown a simple macrame knot to hang the wreath from. Yarns will be provided, but please bring your own if you have particular colours you would like to use for your design.

If there is time, you will have the chance to make a simple pom pom decoration for your Christmas tree or to decorate your gift wrapped presents.

Crochet Storage Basket Workshop.

This workshop is suitable for intermediate level but is also open to beginners.

Crocheting with chunky yarn is so satisfying as your works grows fast!  This chunky Crochet Storage Basket is a quick & easy project using a chunky 15mm hook & 9 mm recycled cotton braid.

It is a handy size approximately H 25 cm x W 40 cm. This basket is so useful & can be used as a bag, pot for a plant, toy storage or for your yarn stash! 

If you do not complete your basket in the session, you will be shown how to finish, will have instructions to take away with you and also if you prefer you will be given a Video tutorial to follow. We will also have extra colours & Crochet hooks available on the day to purchase if you would like to make another basket at home.

Once finished, your Crochet Storage Basket is sure to make a lovely addition to your home or as a special gift, made by you!

Arm Knitting Blanket Workshop.

Join us and learn the simple skill to create your very own throw/blanket.

Perfect for beginners & knitters alike, Paula from Cocoon&me will guide you through the simple art of arm knitting to create this beautiful homeware accessory. It is so satisfying knitting with this giant yarn as your work grows quickly & you walk away with an amazing on trend throw!

Folka Pajaki Making Workshop.

Join artist Karolina Merska for a Pajaki making workshop.

During the workshop Karolina will introduce you to a rich history of unique Polish rye and straw chandeliers called “Pajaki.”

Pajaki (pah-yonk-ee) are traditional Polish chandeliers made from rye straw and paper. Their history dates back to the mid-18th century. Made by country women as decorations for their homes especially for Christmas, Easter, as well as for weddings and christenings. Suspended from a ceiling in a main room, amongst colourful paper cut-outs, paintings and paper flowers they became a popular decoration in polish village houses. They were a symbol of harvest and happiness in New Year.

Today the tradition is practised less and less. Karolina keeps Pajaki tradition alive.

Karolina will teach you how to create a structure which later will be decorated with 5 traditional “kalinka” pom poms. “Kalinka” pom pom is made of 15 layers of hand twisted tissue paper.

By the end of a workshop you will learn some new unique skills and take a beautiful colourful pajaki with you to decorate your house.
