What is Gold Vermeil?
Whilst similar to gold plating, it has some key differences that make it distinctive. Vermeil is a technique originating in the 19th century, where gold was applied to Sterling Silver. (As apposed to gold plating which is on a base metal like copper or brass. It is also made through the gold plating technique, but requires a thicker layer of gold. Each of these beautiful rings have 6 layers.
